Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
About the scheme
The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government initiative designed to encourage more people to adopt renewable energy. The scheme was announced in March 2011 and will offer a fixed payment for the renewable heat you produce.
Currently, only the Commercial part of the scheme is live. However phase two of the scheme is set to begin in October 2012 and will see the scheme open up to Domestic households too.
In the meantime, those installing qualifying domestic systems between August 2011 and March 2012 can apply for the the Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) – a one off payment to help cover the cost of installation. For more details on the RHPP please follow the link.
